Xbox Live Arcade Game Pack is a Compilation game, developed by various studios and published by Microsoft Game Studios, which was released in 2009.

Lumines Live!

Lumines Live! is the Xbox Live Arcade version of the popular PSP launch title, Lumines: Puzzle Fusion. The basic idea of the game is to shift and align 2x2 squares of colored tiles into a wide bin. When you create a square or rectangle 2x2 or larger of the same color, the panels will highlight. Any highlighted panels are cleared by a constantly sweeping line that passes from left to right across the game area. Clearing multiple panels in one sweep will earn you bonuses, but it will be game over if you reach the top of the bin and try to place another square on top.

During gameplay, the music will play according to the moves you make; such as square rotation, dropping squares, clearing tiles, and more. This gives the illusion of a blend of music and gameplay. Lumines Live! includes several different modes of play - some from the original Lumines, some new. Familiar modes include:Challenge Mode:* Play an endless game, earning new skins as you progress.

  • Skin Edit Mode: Play a short or endless game, choosing from one (or more) of your favorite previously unlocked skins from Challenge Mode.

  • VS CPU Mode: Face off against the CPU in trying to claim the most play area.

  • Time Attack Mode: Try to clear the most tiles in a set period of time.

  • Puzzle Mode: Try to make specified shapes using the provided tiles.

New to Lumines Live! is Mission Mode. In this mode, you must clear all the tiles using the provided squares in a set period of time, much like the Puzzle Mode of Tetris Attack. Players can also compete against a friend either locally or on Xbox Live in VS Mode. Additional stages for Mission, VS CPU, and Puzzle Modes can be purchased from Xbox Live Marketplace, as well as extra skins for the game.

Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2

Just like the original game, Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2 is a fast, abstract shooter with glowing enemies and bullets in a rectangular arena against a black background. The game includes six game modes with different objectives. The different modes are unlocked gradually after playing the previous one for a certain amount of time. In Deadline* players get three minutes to score as many points as possible. This is done by destroying different waves of enemies that leave behind geoms that increase the score multiplier. The enemy ship also has a limited amount of bombs to clear the entire screen. Most other game modes feature geoms as well.

  • King is a more tactical game. Players can only shoot from circle zones that appear at random. Enemies cannot enter the zone, but they degrade over time, first becoming green and eventually red no longer blocking the enemies. The player then quickly needs to travel to a new zone and while travelling enemy crafts can only be dodged, not shot.

  • Evolved is a known game mode with more traditional gameplay. Players receive four lives and three bombs to score as much as possible. For every 100,000 points an extra life and a bomb are awarded. The next bonus is awarded at ten percent of the previous value.

  • Pacifism is a defensive game mode where the player cannot shoot enemies. Instead they need to be dodged and can only be destroyed by flying through gates that appear at random and kill all nearby enemies. The gate constantly rotates and the player cannot touch the yellow ends.

  • Waves is centered around fixed waves of orange enemies that approach from the sides of the screen as a giant wall. The player needs to make room and prevent contact. Other enemies appear as well, but in smaller amounts.

  • The final game mode is Sequence and it offers a set of twenty challenges. Per challenge, players only have 30 seconds to complete it. When a life is lost or the time is over, the game moves on to the next challenge until the player is out of lives.

The Xbox 360 version has cooperative and versus offline games for up to four players.

Bomberman Live

Bomberman LIVE is a re-imaging of the original Bomberman game.

The game features frantic, explosive action with high-definition graphics, four-person local multiplayer and eight-person online multiplayer. Players can customize their own Bomberman with over 10,000 unique combinations. The game has the player move a character around in a maze, destroying enemies while planting bombs and collecting power-ups that increase the player's bomb radius, bomb power, speed, and more.
